Every guide follows the same field-teaching pattern: what to look for, what it means, what to do next, how to test it, and the mistake to avoid. Structure is fixed so you can scan under pressure — the content inside it is what changes per topic.
Each guide lists the reference material it draws from — field manuals, agency references (USGS, NOAA, U.S. Forest Service), and established bushcraft literature. We cite sources; we do not claim novel research or field-testing we haven't done.
We do not make medical claims. We do not tell you water is safe to drink based on how it was found — treatment is always a separate step. Where a technique has real limits, we state them in an Honest Limitations note rather than omit them.
Every article and field sheet carries the date it was last reviewed. When a guide is revised, that date changes. We do not backdate or silently edit published safety guidance.
We do not attribute guides to invented reviewers, credentials, or field experience we can't stand behind. Where a byline or credential isn't verified, it is not shown.
We do not publish download counts, star ratings, or testimonials. If a trust signal can't be verified, it doesn't appear on the site — full stop.
