RAISED GARDEN BED

Simple Raised Bed Field Guide

Core rule: use safe materials, keep the bed reachable, drain the bottom, and fill with loose living soil.

1 Bed Cutaway

safe frame compost garden soil drainage

A raised bed holds loose growing soil above poor ground while still letting water drain down.

2 Size + Placement

3-4 ft reachable width sunny site paths on both sides

Keep the bed narrow enough to reach the center without stepping on the soil.

3 Soil Layers
